Dog training theories are controversial, complex and confusing as trainers attack each other’s methods. There are calls for various equipment to be banned; allegations of animal cruelty linked to virtually every piece of training equipment that exists;  and vehement opposition from welfare groups to equipment that, when used properly in selected situations, can mean the difference between euthanasia and life for some pets.  This discussion paper briefly outlines the issues and the “bottom line” of dog training styles and can be viewed in the “Big Issues” section or by clicking here.
